Employee/Service Zone, Permit Parking System

The Town of Milton and the Milton Chamber of Commerce developed an employee parking system in all business districts (East Milton, Milton Village & Central Ave), that has been in place for many years. Below you will find details regarding parking spots designated for employees.  It is very important that your employees do not take prime parking spaces from customers, and know and understand the system.  If employees park in prime spots, they will be prone to parking tickets.

A permit for all day parking is available from the police department for $25.00 per year per employee. There is only one way in which to purchase a permit:

Once the employee receives the permit sticker, they should only park in spaces marked “service zone”.  These are located in many of the outlying areas of the business districts (see list attached to parking permit form). The service zone spaces allow for all day parking without the fear of being ticketed.   NO OVERNIGHT PARKING IS ALLOWED IN A SERVICE ZONE.

Important Note: If an employee parks in a prime spot for 8 hours, they are depriving customers of not 1 space, but 8 spaces, based on a one-hour turnover.

If this behavior continues for 50 weeks per year that equals an amazing 2,000 spaces unavailable to customers (8 x 5 days per week = 40,  40 x 50 weeks = 2,000)!
