Early Voting
Town of Milton voters now have the option to vote early by mail in all elections, with no excuse required. To request your Vote by Mail ballot, submit a signed application or request. Vote-by-mail ballot requests must be made in writing and signed.
If you wish to vote by mail, you will first need to submit an application for your ballot. You may submit your Vote by Mail application by mail, email, or fax. Further, any written request with your signature is an acceptable application. You can simply write a signed letter to apply for your ballot.
Electronic signatures, scanned applications, and photos of applications are acceptable.
Typed signatures on applications cannot be accepted unless you are a voter who requires accommodations due to physical disability. If you are unable to sign your application or mark your ballot by hand due to a disability, please contact the Office of the Town Clerk.
The deadline to request a vote by mail ballot is 5 pm on the fifth business day before all presidential primaries, state primaries, and state elections. Please file your request early to allow time for your ballot to be mailed to you and for you to return your voted ballot so it reaches Town Hall by the close of polls to be counted.
All Vote by Mail Ballot requests must be made in writing and signed. Vote by Mail ballots are sent out in the order in which requests are received. Please provide a phone number and/or email address in case a question arises as we prepare your ballot. When the voter receives the vote-by-mail ballot in the mail, the voter should mark the ballot, complete and sign the inner affidavit envelope and, as soon as possible, return the voted ballot (sealed inside the inner envelope) to the Town Clerk. Voted mail-in ballots may not be brought directly to precinct polling places. Voted ballots may be returned by mail or dropped off by the voter or a family member at the Town Clerk's Office before the polls close. Ballots received after the polls close cannot be counted.
There are two methods to request a vote-by-mail ballot be mailed to you: you may complete a 2022 Vote by Mail Application or write a letter. A signed application or letter may be mailed, dropped off, emailed, or faxed (see specifics below) to the Town Clerk's Office.
Complete, sign, and submit a 2022 Vote by Mail Application form to the Milton Town Clerk's office. The form is available online or at the Office of the Town Clerk.
