When officers arrived, it was determined that the lone occupant of a 2008 Ford Focus had suffered serious injuries and did not survive. The second vehicle involved was a 2012 Hyundai Elantra. This vehicle was driven by a 39-year-old man from Boston, MA. There were 3 passengers in this vehicle: a 31-year-old female from Randolph, MA and two children under the age of 10. All four individuals were outside the car when public safety personnel arrived. The driver was transported by Fallon Ambulance to the Tufts Medical Center. The three passengers were all transported by Fallon Ambulance to the Boston Medical Center.
The crash is currently under investigation. Assisting the Milton Police in investigating this fatality are troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section as well as the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit.
The crash investigation did necessitate the closure of Route 28 in Milton during the evening commute from the time of the crash until approximately 8:00 PM. We understand this caused significant delays in motorists being able to reach their desired destination. The Milton Police requested and received mutual aid from the Canton Police Department, Weymouth Police Department and the Milton Public Works Department for assistance in closing roads and directing traffic.
No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is ongoing. The Milton Police Department offers its condolences to the victim’s family at this time.
