A letter to Rabbi Benjamin about Pierce Middle School Incident

Dear Rabbi Benjamin,

Tonight the Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator learned about the occurrence of a swastika incident at Pierce Middle School.  We are saddened that this troubling incident, which we condemn, has now occurred for the second time in a few months.  Chief King informed us that the investigation is continuing.  We are confident that the Milton Police and the Milton School Department will take all appropriate actions to investigate the situation thoroughly and discipline the person(s) who is/are responsible.

Just a few weeks ago at MICA's annual Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration, the Board of Selectmen proclaimed that the Town of Milton is a No Place for Hate community.  Despite today's sad news, Milton remains a No Place for Hate community.  The leaders of Milton's town government remain committed to fostering respect, diversity and inclusion in Milton.

Please express our sorrow and concern about this terrible incident to the members of Congregation Beth Shalom.  We are thinking of you and the members of your congregation and we stand with you.
