FORTY-FIRST MEETING

The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm at Milton High School prior to the beginning of the second night of the Annual Town Meeting.
Town Accountant David Grab joined the meeting.
On a motion made by Member Walker and seconded by Member Keel, the Committee voted
9-0-0 to approve a Reserve Fund transfer in the amount of $3,278 for Unemployment Compensation for March 2008.
The Chair updated the Committee on a request by the Town of Randolph’s Board of Selectmen to Blue Hills Regional Technical School to revisit their 2009 budget in an effort to reduce the participating towns’ assessments.
Before Article 45 was discussed, Chairman Conlon recused herself. Member Innes acted as chair and will present the Committee’s recommendation to Town Meeting. Article 45 would allow the Selectmen to borrow up to $300,000 to pay legally obligated medical expenses for public safety personnel incurred from July, 2007 through June, 2008. On a motion made by Member Walker and seconded by Member Keel, the Committee voted 8-0-0 to recommend that Town Meeting authorize the Selectmen to borrow up to $300,000 for this purpose. Chairman Conlon returned to the meeting.
The Chair has obtained from the Assessor’s Office tax impact information for the contingent budget that was requested at last night’s Town Meeting by Town Meeting Member Diane Agostino.
The Committee discussed issues that may arise at Town Meeting. The Committee recessed at 7:10 pm to attend Town Meeting.
The next meeting of the Warrant Committee will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 6:00 pm at Milton High School.
