WARRANT COMMITTEE MAY 5, 2008

The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm at Milton High School prior to the beginning of the Annual Town Meeting.
The Committee received copies of the updated power point presentation for Town Meeting, a letter from Cook and Company regarding firefighter medical bills and schedules of departmental fees.
On a motion made by Member Keel and seconded by Member Innes, the Committee voted 8-0-2 to approve the minutes of April 30, 2008 as amended.
The Chair discussed Article 15 and the Selectmen’s plan to move to transfer $70,000 from the Fire Department’s medical expenses line to the salary line in order to rollover a salary increase for FY08. Following discussion, on a motion made by Member Innes and seconded by Member Keel, the Committee voted 13-0-0 to recommend against any motion to transfer funds from the firefighter medical line to a salary line in the Fire budget or to any other budget
The Blue Hills Regional Technical High School budget will be presented at Town Meeting on Thursday, May 8.
The Committee discussed motions that may be made by the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee at Town Meeting.
On a motion made by Member Keel and seconded by Member Innes, the Committee voted 13-0-0 to recess at 7:00 pm to allow the Warrant Committee to attend the first evening of the 2008 Annual Town Meeting.
The next meeting of the Warrant Committee will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 6:30 pm at Milton High School prior to the second evening of the Annual Town Meeting.
