Old Curbside Recycling Guidelines
To assure pickup, it is best to keep the paper goods and 'co-mingles' (glass & plastic bottles, tin cans, #1-7 plastics) separated. To do this, either buy two recycling bins and use one for paper, and the other for 'co-mingles', or put your 'co-mingles' in the bin and put your papers in a paper bag beside the bin. You can purchase bins at the Central Business Office at Town Hall for $7.00 each.
Please note that recycling will be rejected if : 1) it is mixed with trash or yard waste; or 2) papers are mixed together with 'co-mingles' (glass, plastic items, cans) in one recycling bin. Our trash vendor requires that paper items be separated from co-mingles. (Please call DPW, at (617) 898-4868 with any questions on this.)
The following items can be put out for curbside collection on your regular trash/recycling pick-up day.
