TOWN ACCOUNTANT
TOWN OF MILTON
The Town of Milton is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the full-time position of Town Accountant. Under the direction of the Town Administrator, the Town Accountant is responsible for all financial services of town government and will be responsible for the supervision of an office staff consisting of four or more individuals. Candidates should have knowledge of municipal and state accounting procedures. The Town Accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling all town expenditures and financial records. The position requires extensive knowledge of GAAP, UMAS and GASB regulations. The Town Accountant serves as an ex-officio member of the Milton Retirement System Board and as a member of the Capital Improvement Planning Committee. Knowledge of the WTI Systems LLP (formerly DataNational Corp.)
Fundware software package is highly desirable. The position requires a bachelor=s degree in accounting, finance or related fields; three to five years of responsible experience in accounting or financial management; supervisory experience in municipal accounting preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of the Certified Governmental Accountant Program, or able to complete within three (3) years. The salary range for this position is $78,012 - $97,532, plus benefits.
