1. No one attended for Citizen’s Speak.

3. The minutes of the October, 2007 Board of Health meeting were approved as written following a motion by Ms. Fidler which was seconded by Ms. Musto and unanimously approved.
4. Messrs. Frank and Jim O’Neill, the owners of 55 Thacher Street requested a hearing on a housing matter at that address. They provided a brief history of the property, explained they had corrected the critical violations noted in the order letter they received and inquired about what time frame they were allowed to complete the remainder of the repairs. Ms. Musto explained that all corrections must be completed prior to the apartment being rented again. The O’Neills said they would expect to rent the property by January 1, 2008 and would contact the Board of Health for an inspection prior to that time.
5. The Board was advised that the department’s FY09 budget is due to be submitted to the Warrant Committee and Board of Selectmen by December 1, 2007.
6. Ms. Fidler advised the Board that the Department did not receive a grant for which they recently applied. She also updated them on a recent Health Communities conference she attended which addressed diversity training. Ms. Musto advised the Board of conversations she had recently with the DCR about the unsanitary condition of the Ulin skating rink and how much improved she found the facility during a follow-up visit.
7. The owner of 14 Kahler Avenue attended to discuss a letter of correction she received from the Board of Health because of violations identified during a recent inspection of Unit 1. She provided a brief history of the property and explained that the critical violations had been corrected. A receipt from her contractor was also submitted showing that the smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors and banisters had been repaired. The owner advised that she had questions with certain items contained in the correction order and inquired as to what time frame she would be allowed to correct the remainder of the violations. Ms. Musto stated that Mr. Blanchard would be in touch with her to provide that information and to answer any questions she
had.
The next meeting was scheduled for Monday evening, December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Small Basement Conference Room of the Town Office Building.
