1.      No one attended for Citizen's Speak.

2.      Outstanding bills were signed for payment.

3.      The minutes of the August, 2007 Board of Health meeting were approved as written following a motion by Ms. Musto which was seconded by Ms. Fidler and approved by both.

4.      A request for a flu clinic at the Council on Aging was discussed.  A comprehensive memorandum of understanding required for those sites interested in having a clinic was completed and returned to the Board of Health by them for consideration.  Mr. Paul Kelly, Chair of the COA attended to discuss the matter.  The COA had mentioned Wednesdays as a good day for them but Mr. Blanchard advised that clinics are held Tuesdays and Thursdays due to staffing issues.  Mr. Blanchard offered to email Ms. Sullivan to see if those days worked.  The Board took no action and Mr. Blanchard will follow up with Ms. Sullivan.

5.      Mr. Blanchard requested the Board's permission to withdraw his letter of resignation and stated that he would like to continue as Director of the Milton Board of Health.  Ms. Musto and Ms. Fidler unanimously voted to approve this action.

6.      Ms. Fidler informed the Board about a Wellness in the Community, School and Workplace grant.  A discussion was held about possible topics the Board might consider for application for this grant.  The Director and Public Health Nurse will contact the school department, Milton Hospital and other agencies for their input.

7.      The Director showed the Board signs received from the Region 4B bioterrorism program.  These signs are in several languages and are to be used by the Town during an emergency situation.

8.      The Director advised the Board that while the mosquito situation has generally been quiet locally, there were two cases of WNV recently identified in Massachusetts.

9.      The Director discussed an increase in the fee for re_inspection of a food establishment found to have violations during a routine inspection by the Health Inspector.  Presently a fee of $60. is levied when critical violations of the food code are noted.  However as the Health Inspector stated,  the new Food Code has been in effect since 1999 and every employee is trained and certified under these new regulations.

Following discussion, a motion was made by Ms. Musto, seconded by Mr. Lowney and  unanimously approved by the Board to raise the reinspection fee for a food establishment to $100., effective January 1, 2008.

The next meeting was scheduled for Monday evening, October 15, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Basement Kitchen Conference Room of the Town Office Building.

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.

                                                        Respectfully submitted,
