TOWN HALL VOUCHER SYSTEM STARTS APRIL 1, 2008
Effective April 1, 2008, Town Hall offices will no longer accept cash payments for any services or items provided to residents (personal checks are ok). On that date, cash payments will be replaced with a Town cash voucher system. Here is how it will work:
Before coming to Town Hall, residents should verify the cost of the item or service to be purchased.
Any resident wishing to pay for a Town Hall service or item using cash may go to the Treasurer’s Office (first floor, Town Hall) and exchange the cash payment for a Town voucher. The resident then presents the voucher to the Department where the purchase will be made. The service or item will be given in exchange for the Town voucher, and the transaction will be completed.
As an example, if you want to purchase a recycling bin, go to the Treasurer’s Office and purchase a cash voucher for $5; then go to the Central Business Office (second floor, Town Hall) and present the voucher for your recycling bin.
The voucher system applies to all Town Hall offices, and also includes services or items purchased at the DPW Yard.
For more information, call the Treasurer's Office at (617) 898-4850. .
